THE SOLUTION
To have the best chance of avoiding a 2℃ rise in global temperatures, the average global carbon footprint per year needs to drop under 2 tons by 2050.

What can we do to achieve this goal?
It is actually very simple. On an individual level everyone can do their part in reducing their environmental impact by following only a few items on this list:
Food
Bring your own utensils to fast-food venues
Limit meat consumption, especially beef
Use paper or other biodegradable straws
Consume local and seasonal products
Select fish from sustainable fishing

Shopping
Avoid products with excessive plastic packaging
Bring reusable shopping bags
Buy only what you need
Shop at Thrift Stores
Join a Sewing Club

Transportation
Drive yourself as little as possible
walk, ride a bicycle, or use public transportation instead
If that's not possible, carpool with 3 or more people

Water
Use less water in the garden and when cleaning
Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth
Wash your clothes only when necessary
Install water-saving appliances
Take shorter showers
Fix household leaks

3 R's
Reuse water bottles and recyclable materials/items
Keep inefficient appliances off to reduce energy
Recycle as much as possible.
(Recyclables will have the symbol shown to indicate that they are recyclable)

Successfully implementing any number of these habits is almost guaranteed to increase your bank account while decreasing the Carbon Footprint. Who wouldn't want that?

Is That Enough?
At this rate, the issue of our Carbon Footprint will become widespread enough that we can move on to stopping the issue. With a wide range of support from the various leaders
Reducing your carbon footprint on an individual scale is not enough to stop the global climate crisis, but widespread support and active participation from multiple communities will ensure significant progress towards our cause.

Simply put, turning off the lights every time you leave the room won't save the planet. If we are truly committed to saving the Earth, then people need to involve themselves deeper. Read more to learn how anyone can become an advocate for reducing Carbon Footprint in your community.
As stated above, the first step in reducing the Carbon Footprint in a community is to realize the issue and make it public. This website is one example of publicizing the issue of the Carbon Footprint in our community. Making a website is a great way to get your message out into the world, but maybe that isn't for you. If you consider yourself as an "Influencer" or someone with a large follower base on social media, then using your platform as a tool to spread the issue would be a great idea. Perhaps you feel repulsed by technology in general, in that case, you could spread the word in person or start a petition to gain a platform.

But for now, focus on spreading the word and then act on the issue later. Once that goal is accomplished we can work to permanently remove humanity's Carbon Footprint with green energy and other clean technologies.
advocating to limit carbon emissions, political action becomes an option for everyone in a community. On a local level, political candidates who are aware of carbon emissions and aim to reduce them should be voted for.
The process most movements in history have taken to fix global issues is to realize that there is a problem in the first place, make the issue public, act to stop the issue, and prevent the issue from occurring again in the future.
